I saw this worksheet on preparing for an exercise program from Ryan.

What is excellent about this, is a modified version of this program can be utilized in any integral practice module that one is beginning as a new practice.

My own interest is in continuing to explore the 5 Essential Practices of an Integral Practitioner

So, if Ryan doesn't mind, I'm going to adopt and re-frame some of this document, but as this document stands, I will adopt it whole for the Health and Exercise practice for an Integral Practictioner. And As I've often said, I have no originality!

PREPARING FOR YOUR PRACTICE PROGRAM

Commitment

Most programs require at least a 12 week commitment. This could be more or less depending on your goals. 12 weeks is standard because it takes a long-term commitment in order for any permanent results (i.e. they’ll ‘stick’) to manifest.

What are your goals?

Be specific. What exactly do you want to see happen as a result of committing to long-term program? Use real-world markers.

It is important to be specific (with goals and markers) in order to know accurately where you are at and to measure your progress.

Motivational Preparation

In what ways can you mentally help yourself throughout the training? What are some potential mental obstacles that might arise? Stay motivated and being realistic about the dedication needed to succeed is important, as is enjoying the program itself.

Selecting and Understanding the Program

Principles

What are the fundamental principles of the program? Do you fully understand them? What are the primary goals of this program? Do these principles and goals have a good fit with your own goals, level of commitment, and motivational readiness? How much time each week is required? It is important that you fully understand what you are getting into so that you choose the right program for you and you will be more successful when doing it.

Exercises

What type of exercises will you be performing? Do you know how to do all of them properly? Consult and research if you need to. Also, understanding why specific exercises are chosen and how they work (i.e. give you results) can enhance your performance.

Using this as a marker, I will have a slightly different template for the 5 Essential Practices, and then build on it from there.
