A couple of interesting web design articles, in particular this one called Web Thinking.
And then of course this leads to a classic document, Axioms of Web Architecture.
Why am I posting about this? Well, beside I simply find the
subject matter fascinating, one of my failing of my thinking is that I
like to commit category error quite a lot - in this case, thinking about how good design principles in practice apply to other idea principles.
I've read the Integral Spirituality presentation by Wilber a couple of
times now, and while there is a lot of great stuff - I'll have a review
on it within a week, I believe - there is definitely a couple of
annoyances -
a. Multiplication of ontologies
- again, I'll get into this in my review - but there seems to be this
increasing number of categories, objects, distinctions, etc, that
Wilber posits, and at some point, the verification of these entities
become muddled.
b. The annoyance of these "grand visions" that don't address
experienced personal qualities - such as oh, will, emotion, etc. But of
course, that's me wanting to keep things simple, inspiring.
I'm a bit suspicious of the continued expansion of entities in Wilber's schema, but hey, what do I know?
I'll feel more confortable when investigations to examine the "fit" of
the theories (as we know there won't be one to one, so closest "fit" is
the best that can be done) to what we know, is detailed out.

Or, you could also say "hosted".
This particular site is a "hosted" blog application, that I pay monthly for. I buy groceries online. And books online. I pay most, if not all, of my bills online - although I haven't tried synchonizing with a hosted quicken solution yet. I pay monthly for access to the content over at IntegralNaked. I work (consult, train, design) for a hosted learning service. My personal email is mainly hosted. And I'm thinking about joining Shift In Action to have access to even more content. In a sense, my "gym" is hosted as well. They provide services, and I go to the place to take advantage of the various services there. Web 2.0 is about combining content and services course, that there is enough investment in , in community blocks that are both local and global (or "glocal"). Assuming there is enough infrastructure to support a robust economy. Social structures and services to support those structures, unbounded by geography or time - always available. There's a huge market here, that will only get bigger, and THIS IS the market for the 21st century. |
