And on understanding the causes of procrastination, rather than an action-based plan.
I'm not so sure. I tend to view "understanding" as a whole-life psychological endeavor, that something like therapy is very useful for, to allow more freedom from childhood scripts, and mis-understandings held in the mind, and of course for simple allowing/healing.
That is very useful, but I think action-based plans - with of course right attitudes, which this approach strengthens - is more useful.

Re: More on Procrastination
Actually, I think it's both: understanding AND an action based plan, or in other words, a cognitive-behavioral approach. My wife has struggled with this a great deal and has also improved significantly through both of these. With an understanding you can change your thinking patterns which can free up that need to procastinate; however, contrary to what that article says, time managment can be a big part, not necessarily the only, but a big help. I can't see throwing out either understanding or an action plan.
Thanks for the link, there's a lot of good stuff in it. Trackbacks
